Hi! I’m Lizzy Gibbs

I love breastfeeding, helping moms and am a self-described birth junkie. I've been a doula for 16 years. I have attended home births, hospital births, cesareans, VBACs and many other beautiful variations in between. I am also a CLEC (Certified Lactation Educator Counselor).

Why Lactation and Doula work?

I love to witness a woman live her strongest moment(s). I want to nourish and hold space for the transition that moms and dads make into their role as parents.

What's my Philosophy?

Supported is best. You are strong, but you don’t have to do it alone. I want mothers to feel supported and informed in labor, after delivery, during breastfeeding and at home as a family. Customized support is key, as each family is unique in their needs and style. I believe that birth is safe for the most part, and that new motherhood can be enjoyable. Support, information and a well- selected team of specialists (including a birth and postpartum doula) can bring you closer to your personal goals for both your birth and your new journey into parenthood.

My main goal:

My main goal is to increase a mother's emotional satisfaction, improve or maintain a positive birth environment, and aid in the transition between worlds.

Educational Background:

I completed my doula training in San Francisco in 2008. After 2 years of volunteer work, I began working professionally with families in San Diego as a birth and postpartum doula. I have a bachelor's degree in Human Development and a minor in Human Sexuality. I hold a CLEC (Certificate in Lactation Education and Counseling) from UCSD  and will soon be an internationally board certified Lactation Consultant in 2024.
